I first became interested in blacksmithing while working in Ethiopia as a missionary, observing the way the people used primitive tools to create spear heads and farm tools was amazing. Upon returning to Indiana I worked part-time for a well-established blacksmith who needed additional help for a large architectural commission job he was working on.  This began my hands-on experience with blacksmithing.  After a few years working for someone else I decided I would try to venture out on my own.

Since starting Barzillai Forge, I have learned a lot and continue to develop my skills and creativity to design many types of functional art as well as pieces that are strictly for pleasure.  Currently much of my work is done on commission, although I do keep a line of wine racks and candleholders for retail and wholesale.  As you look through my galleries let your imagination go, I would enjoy working with you to create something for your home or garden.
